The Department of Teacher Education at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of
Education.
Area of Specialization: P-8 social studies education
Primary Job Duties: Teaching responsibilities for this full-time, tenure-track position will include undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in the area of social studies education. The successful candidate will be expected to advise students, provide service to the Department of Teacher Education and the University, work on site at a Professional Development School, and undertake scholarly projects related to the mission of the Seidel School of Education and Professional Studies. Candidates are expected to be able to utilize effective teaching strategies which enhance the success of a diverse student body.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education or related field preferred (ABD may be considered). If ABD, doctoral degree must be completed before date of hire. Successful teaching experience at the P-8 level; experience in teaching/advising at the undergraduate level; and evidence of scholarship potential appropriate to the rank of assistant professor.

- Ability to work collegially with
university faculty and students as well as with P-8 school personnel
- Ability to teach and advise doctoral
candidates
- Familiarity with Critical Theory
