University of Maryland University College (UMUC) seeks a full-time Collegiate Faculty member with experience in teaching undergraduate human resource management courses. Collegiate Faculty teach as well as perform other academic and academically related duties as assigned.

The faculty member will join one of the largest online institutions in the world, serving a global student population. UMUC is one of 11 degree-granting institutions in the University System of Maryland (USM). Working adults, military personnel, and other students around the globe are achieving their academic goals through UMUC's innovative educational options, including online instruction, accelerated academic programs, and classroom-based courses taught during the daytime, evenings, and weekends. Currently, more than 34,000 students attend UMUC nationally, and an additional 35,000 students attend UMUC at on-site classes in more than 23 countries throughout the world; about 50,000 students are active duty military, veterans, and their families.

Responsibilities:
The Collegiate Faculty member is responsible for teaching 30 credits annually and academic service as specified by the Academic Director. The typical teaching lead will be 10 three-credit courses. Teaching assignments will be at a regional site in Maryland and online at the discretion of the academic director. The faculty member will also participate in other academic aspects of the University and contribute to the unit's activities focused on the education of adult students and continuous improvement of curriculum and teaching. In addition to teaching, the position will require service including, but not limited to, some or all of the following: service on various University or departmental councils, committees, and advisory boards; curricula and program development and course revision; faculty development and mentoring; faculty advisor to the student club and SHRM chapter; act as course content expert and maintain a model classroom for one or more courses; and participation in University events. Collegiate faculty may have their duties adjusted to serve the needs of the University.

The Collegiate Faculty member is appointed by contract and ranked as Collegiate Instructor, Collegiate Assistant Professor, Collegiate Associate Professor, or Collegiate Professor depending on education and experience.

Qualifications:
Master's degree required in Human Resource Management, or related field; Ph.D. [or other terminal degree] preferred in Human Resource Management, or related field. A minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the appropriate level is required. Experience in online delivery of Human Resource Management classes is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to candidates already employed by UMUC in related 9-month collegiate positions.
