This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsFranklin College is seeking to fill a Director of Residence Life position. The Director of Residence Life is a full-time, 12 month position within the Student Affairs division, reporting to the Dean of Students. The Director is responsible for all administrative, educational and supervisory responsibilities of residence life and for the safety and welfare of all residents, including four traditional residence halls and three campus homes all housing a total of 660 students. The Director supervises three full-time professional hall coordinators and indirect supervision of 32-35 paraprofessional staff (assistant residence hall coordinator, resident assistants and house representatives).
Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining a system for student room and roommate selection; coordinating housing assignments; developing annual recruitment, selection and training programs and in-service training for Residence Hall Coordinators and Resident Assistants; coordinating educational programming for residents, administering department budgets; and responding to institutional and departmental crises in collaboration with other members of the campus community. The director is a judicial officer and maintains the records and statistics of all campus judicial cases. The director participates on College committees and in other ad hoc assignments as needed.
Requirements: Master's degree in related field with at least three years of progressively responsible experience in areas listed above within higher education residence life administration.
