The Stanford Center for Assessment, Learning and Equity (SCALE) in the Graduate School of Education, seeks a Research
Assistant.
The Research Assistant will support the work of teacher assessment development and implementation in California and
national projects.
Duties and responsibilities:
25%: Assist in grant and report writing, data management,
data collection and analysis
25%: Support data collection, both quantitative (scores, survey responses) as well as qualitative
methods (interviews, document and literature review), in support of multiple research projects
30%: Provide clerical/administrative
support for project management as well as professional development events including training, scoring and benchmarking activities. Assist in
supporting the SCALE website, including updating, refreshing and uploading content pertaining to all SCALE projects.
20%: Support
facilitation of professional development events and provide technical assistance to client
organizations.
Qualifications:
Proficiency and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT). Demonstrated
writing ability and ability to write and speak in clear and accessible language. Experience with either quantitative or qualitative research
(or both), with preference for research related to education, children, or educational settings. Ability to work independently and
collaboratively and to meet deadlines.
Prefer candidates with previous experience with performance assessments, publications/grant
writing and/or teaching experience, as well as a BA or advanced degree in a specific core content field (English, Science, History/Social
Science or Mathematics).
1-2 years relevant experience required; 2-3 years preferred.
This is a one year fixed term
position.
