This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsResponsibilities: Anderson University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Dance position with full university benefits in the Dance Division within the School of Music, Theatre and Dance beginning July 2013. The position includes teaching in the studio, classroom, advising and choreographing for the annual faculty & guest artist concert. Teaching beginning through advanced levels of modern dance and secondary experience in three or more of these additional areas: dance composition, improvisation, pedagogy, history, anatomy, kinesiology, and world dance forms, is desired. Teaching responsibilities may also include dance technique courses within the new Musical Theatre major. The Dance Program boasts thirty majors and offers a BA in Dance Performance, BA in Dance Business, BA in Dance Complementary and minor in Dance Performance.
Qualifications: Master of Fine Arts degree or Bachelors degree with commensurate professional experience; established record of a professional profile as an artist and evidence of ongoing creative works in the field of dance. Experience in a program that emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to the performing arts as a whole is preferred and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the university level.
