The University seeks an individual to fill a part-time position as Director of the Trailblazer Scholars Program for the spring semester until June 30, 2013. The Director works collaboratively with a number of University offices, faculty and staff in organizing and delivering skill workshops, academic tutoring and co-curricular personal development experiences to assure retention and academic success of first generation students. In addition, the Director is expected to work individually with each of the 80 students currently in the program and provide direct assistance with academic and personal planning toward the goal of earning a baccalaureate degree. The Director also assists in maintenance of records and data related to the operation of the program.
The University is currently planning for extending funding of the program, including the position of the Director, for fiscal year 2014. The Director reports to the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
Applicants should posses a graduate degree in counseling or a related field and are required to present a record of experience in working with college undergraduates.
