Pfeiffer University is currently seeking applicants for Director of Athletics. The successful candidate will responsible for overall administration, management and control of the Athletic department, developing policies, procedures and programs which are in compliance with NCAA, while reflecting the overall philosophy and objectives of the University.
This position will interface with the Athletic Policies Board as required (i.e., issues of policies, schedules, etc.), coordinate the recruiting, selection and evaluation of all coaches, and coordinate all departmental fund raising efforts. Also a critical function of this position is the fundraising for the department, development and monitoring of budgets, including monitoring of financial aid/scholarships awarded.
A minimum of three years' experience is required, with progressive responsibility in an intercollegiate athletic setting, including senior management experience, or comparable experience in a professional environment. A Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree preferred. Knowledge of NCAA regulations is essential. Qualifications also include excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated supervisory experience, ability to foster strong teamwork among constituents, and a strong business acumen.
