This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsJob Description: The Department of Human Resources at East Carolina University is responsible for providing a comprehensive program of services to approximately 5,500 employees in the campus community, including main campus and the School of Medicine. The Department is composed of functional units: Administration, Benefits, Classification and Compensation, Employee Relations and Staff Development, Employment, and the Information Processing Center.
Reporting to the Director of HRIS, the HR Systems Support Analyst performs professional technical duties including analyzing, refining, documenting, trouble-shooting and training users in the day-to-day operational use of HR systems both internally developed and externally purchased. The main project this position would be currently responsible for is to bring all employees onto the Kronos timekeeping system, and this position will be initially doing most of their job related to the Kronos project initially.
The HR Systems Support Analyst is responsible for developing functional and technical specifications for systems to meet business requirements, while ensuring the integrity of the various systems involved. The position involves serving as the authoritative technical resource on the information needs of HR and user departments. The HR Systems Support Analyst must collaborate with a wide variety of individuals inside and outside of the University to assure the effectiveness of HR operations, identify technical or operational issues that need attention, develop recommendations for action, and implement appropriate solutions.
In this position we would prefer a candidate with substantial formal training in a related field and five years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of technical systems support. Extensive experience in a technical systems support function involving HR or payroll timekeeping systems such as Kronos is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
Salary Grade Equivalent: 72 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
