Non-tenure-track Instructor position in elementary education with a 3 year renewal appointment beginning in August, 2013.

Doctorate or ABD in elementary education or related area with a literacy emphasis, training/experience in literacy instruction & assessment is required. Successful candidate must also demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively in a collegial- team-oriented departmental environment; and demonstrate a willingness to develop professionally. At least 3 years of successful teaching in a P-6 school setting also required.
Teaching undergraduate/graduate courses, supervising field experiences, advising students, supervising interns, working collaboratively with university, public/private schools, service at the departmental and college level.

The dept has the 3rd largest number of majors at Indiana State University and offers NCATE-accredited programs in elementary, early childhood, and special education at the baccalaureate and master's levels. Also recognized by the Association of Childhood Education International., the department serves more than 800 undergraduate majors; has 14 full-time and several part time faculty members and is heavily involved in public school partnerships.

The College offers degree programs, baccalaureate - doctoral level for school and clinical settings. The College has 4 departments: Communication Disorders, Counseling, School & Educational Psychology; Curriculum, Instruction and Media Technology; Educational Leadership; and Elementary, Early, and Special Education; and 4 centers, the Center for Mathematics Education, the Blumberg Center - Interdisciplinary Studies in Special Education, the Early Childhood Education Center, & University Hall Clinic..

The college serves approximately 700 graduate students and 1,200 undergraduate students across 29 programs at the graduate/ undergraduate levels. Programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, the American Psychological Association, the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs, the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, and the National Association of School Psychologists.

The College is proud of its national recognition for Professional Development School (PDS) partnership with 10 schools in 2 area school districts. The College is also a member of the Teacher Education Council of State Colleges and University & Teachers of a New Era.

Founded in 1865, ISU is a research-intensive state-assisted public institution offering degrees through the doctoral level.
