ROLE of the POSITION
The Senior Application Developer works closely with the Executive Director of Enrollment Technology to ensure the successful completion of assigned departmental projects. This individual will proactively seek out ways to improve process/system efficiencies and will work with other key staff members to ensure team goals are attained. The incumbent is responsible for the management of development resources, conducting of progress meetings, communication of project status to all levels of the University, and interfacing with other departments during the development lifecycle. The Senior Application Developer is a major contributor to the department's brainstorming and design meetings.
The successful candidate will work as a member of the development team which designs, develops, tests, and deploys software/web applications. This position is expected to partner with internal and external constituents to define requirements and develop technical specifications with a particular focus on enrollment and student services. The candidate must effectively communicate the assessment of the business practices and solutions to ensure development projects meet and exceed performance goals. Incumbent will develop software applications through designing and implementing enhancements and ensure changes to production applications are executed in a timely manner; identify and correct software discrepancies through unit, integration, system and customer acceptance testing and document code and system designs.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and a minimum three years of experience with HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one dynamic web programming language (i.e. ColdFusion, PHP, Java, Ruby, etc.).
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
