POSITION TITLE: Community Director PERSONNEL STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time, Regular
Note: The Community Director is a full-time 12-month live-in position.
DEPARTMENT: Residential Life
RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent will be responsible for the overall quality of life for residents living in one of the residential communities, each housing approximately 350-550 students. Specific duties include: overseeing the management and administration of daily residential community operations; providing crisis response; serving in emergency "on-call" rotations; implementing developmental program curriculum; advising students; supervising student paraprofessionals/graduate students; aiding in the resolution of student conduct matters; regulating safety operations; performing collateral tasks including staff selection, training and development; and performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree (a Master's degree in Student Personnel Services, Student Development, Counseling, or a related area is strongly preferred). Prior residence hall experience is desired. A solid foundation in human/student development theory and demonstrated ability to relate to a multi-cultural population are very desirable.
SALARY: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Position includes a furnished apartment and meals when the University is in session in addition to the full University benefits package.
