This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsJob Description: The selected candidate will have the responsibility for coordinating referral processes for neurosurgery clinics. Medical referral skills and experience are desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for resolving problems with patients, physicians, clinical staff, and insurance companies. Candidates should possess exceptional customer service and communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience in automated scheduling and registration, electronic medical records, 3rd party reimbursement, and managed care insurance. Excellent computer skills are essential. Prefer demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through two years of clerical experience. Usual hours of operation for this position are from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center (formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital). Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Advanced level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
Salary Grade Equivalent: 63 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
