This position will obtain new research projects for the Center for Health Policy. Serve as Team Leader and/or Principal Investigator for research projects, develop strategic plan and grant/contract proposals for own projects; publish issues briefs and scientific papers in external journals. Apply personal research expertise to specific areas of inquiry to advise research staff of project design and methodology. Supervise professional research staff, post-doctoral research fellows, and graduate and undergraduate research assistants. Represent Center for Health Policy at seminars, conferences, speaking engagements, etc.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Participate in marketing functions to include research, review of requests, proposal preparation, and liaison with sponsors. Participate in preparation of research proposals as Principal Investigator, to include IRB approval, budget preparation, and other research requirements. Plan, schedule, and manage research projects to include coordination of work efforts, monitoring progress of projects, identification of problems, and the implementation of solutions. · Serve as Team Leader for assigned research areas. Develop strategic plan for assigned research areas. Apply personal expertise to specific areas of inquiry to advise research staff of project design and methodology. Write research reports. · Provide consultation on research projects to faculty and researchers; provide expertise in specific areas to participate in design and methodology. · Supervise and mentor staff and student research analysts in coordination with CHP faculty and staff. · Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Required: Master's degree in research-related area: Public Health, Public Policy, Health Policy, Psychology, Social Work, or similar field from an accredited institution plus five (5) years research-related experience to include a minimum of three (3) years supervising others
