The Department of Biology at St. Mary's College of Maryland in Historic St. Mary's City invites applications for a three-year, visiting assistant-professor position beginning August 2013, pending budgetary approval. We especially encourage applicants with research interests that utilize molecular methodologies. Teaching responsibilities include the following on a rotating basis: Principles of Biology or Genetics; Molecular Biology; an upper-division offering in plant biology; a topical non-majors biology course; a first-year seminar; and mentoring undergraduate research. Ph.D. and significant experience teaching undergraduates required. An interest in attracting and retaining students from underrepresented groups is desirable.
