Job Description: This position is located within the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Leo Jenkins Cancer Center. The
position oversees the administrative and financial operations for the Department of Radiation Oncology in close coordination with the
Department Chair, Medical Director, and Cancer Center Administrator. The selected candidate will be responsible for the management of
finances, purchasing, personnel, programmatic development, and overall operations of the clinical and administrative functions of the
department. The position necessitates excellent oral communications, presentation, and written skills, as the Clinical Administrative
Manager will prepare talks, presentations, and formal papers without outside editing. Superior skills in healthcare, financial, and
personnel management are essential to this position. The Clinical Administrative Manager must also be able to function effectively as a team
member with the ability to initiate and follow through on complex problems of both long-term and crisis-level duration. Candidates should
demonstrate the ability to employ sound, mature judgment; exercise initiative; and make logical decisions based on complex data.
Highly-developed quantitative skills, fiscal acumen, analytical expertise (including multiple software competencies), and contract/grant
agency knowledge are needed. Advanced-level knowledge of issues in healthcare reform and managed care is strongly preferred. In addition,
experience in an academic medical setting, preferably in Radiation Oncology, would be extremely beneficial. CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION - NOT SUBJECT TO STATE PERSONNEL ACT.
The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center, the flagship hospital for University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an appropriately accredited four-year college with a degree in business administration, public administration, health care administration, or a related program and three years of clinical or administrative management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required.
Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Broad Banding Salary Administration Plan. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
