Position Summary:

The University of Indianapolis is accepting applications for a Residence Hall Director. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt staff position with full-time benefits; full tuition remission if attending the University of Indianapolis; furnished apartment with board plan; and professional development opportunities. The beginning date is July 1, 2013.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the administration and community development of a residence hall of more than 200 students; supervision of 8 to 12 resident assistants and 5 to 10 desk workers; and leadership of students, student discipline, duty coverage, and collateral positions within the department (camps and conferences, staff training & selection, programmatic committees). The residence director must be available at various times throughout the day; programs that require being off-campus for the majority of the day (student teaching, internship, etc.) will not be allowed.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

BS or BA is required. Prior residence hall and leadership experience are desired, as are acceptance and enrollment into a graduate program at the University of Indianapolis or school in the surrounding area. The candidate is responsible for completing the necessary requirements for admission. Flexible work hours as evening and weekend hours are required.
