The Assistant Director of International Admission oversees the recruitment of international students and assists students and families in the admission process.
Developing and implementing a strategic international recruitment plan to increase international student enrollment. Coordinating communication efforts with prospective students as well as maintaining the International Admission website. Identifying and traveling to US-based or international recruitment fairs that will return strong recruitment results. Serving as Designated School Official approved by Department of Homeland Security to issue immigration documents and grant immigrant level benefits to students in the F-1 visa status. Providing advising and support through the admission process for international applicants including the tracking of applications, admission offers and financial aid needs. Assisting students with the pre-departure and arrival process. Working closely with the Office of Student Affairs regarding orientation, housing opportunities and university policies.
An undergraduate degree, previous international recruitment experience, exceptional communication and organizational skills, a high level of energy and self-motivation, and the ability to interact with a variety of cultures. Candidates must have knowledge of visa regulations and the ability to read and assess international student transcripts. Position requires the ability to secure a passport for international travel and includes some evening and weekend work.
