Brief Description of Duties: SOCIAL/CLINICAL RESEARCH SPECIALIST

THIS IS A SPA POSITION. THIS POSITION IS BEING RECRUITED AT THE ADVANCED LEVEL. GRANT-FUNDED POSITION, TITLE III.

WORK HOURS:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
WORK SCHEDULE: MONDAY - FRIDAY

JOB SUMMARY
The employee will assist in fulfilling internal data requests for institutional planning and assessment. The ability to coordinate activities with other staff/faculty, manage multiple tasks and different timelines as required by each specific activity is critical. The employee must possess knowledge of research and survey design principles as well as data analysis procedures. The individual in this position will assist with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of institutional data. The ability to run WebFocus reports to extract data will be required. The ability to interpret and report both descriptive and inferential statistics is required. After extrapolating and verifying data/information from a variety of sources, the data will be organized and edited into standardized as well as customized report forms. The individual will also be responsible for helping to maintain the Institutional Assessment and Research website and assisting with the completion of the Fact Book.

KNOWLEDGE PROFESSIONAL:
This position requires an undergraduate degree in statistics, psychology, economics, computer science or related field. The employee must possess knowledge of research and survey design principles as well as data analysis procedures. The ability to interpret and report both descriptive and inferential statistics is required. A working knowledge of creating and managing databases and operating statistical software packages is also required. In addition, the employee is expected to keep current with developments and trends in educational learning outcomes and survey research.

PROJECT DESIGN:
The individual in this position is responsible for coordinating resources to obtain institutional data and will collect and compile data from multiple sources. The employee will be responsible for coordinating the data collection for measuring the progress made towards the strategic planning.

RESEARCH PROJECT/PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION:

The employee will assist in fulfilling internal data requests for institutional planning and assessment. The individual will need to work effectively in a team without close supervision and will need to be able to provide leadership and direction for other team members. The ability to coordinate activities with other staff/faculty, manage multiple tasks and different timelines as required by each specific activity is critical.

DATA/INFORMATION ANALYSIS/MANAGEMENT:

A minimum of one year experience conducting statistical analyses and preparing reports using qualitative and/or quantitative data is required. The individual in this position will assist with the collection, analysis, and interpretation of institutional data. The ability to run WebFocus reports to extract data will be required. The person in this position will also be required to create and maintain databases. The individual will also need to be able to interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via descriptive statistical analyses to complex inferential statistics is required. The applicant should have experience conducting statistical analyses and preparing reports using qualitative and/or quantitative data. The individual will need to be able to make appropriate decisions as they relate to conducting appropriate statistical analyses and proper data display. After extrapolating and verifying data/information from a variety of sources, the data will be organized and edited into standardized as well as customized report forms.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications): REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

This position requires an undergraduate degree in statistics, psychology, economics, computer science or related field.

STATE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or combination of training and or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
