Description:
The Hoover Institution is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time one-year fixed-term Senior Research Analyst position at the Hoover Institution. The Senior Research Analyst is responsible for supporting the efforts of the CREDO staff with program evaluation and policy analysis work. CREDO's mission is to enhance evaluation and analysis of school reform initiatives. The analyst must have relevant training and work experience in research design, sampling, original data collection (design and implementation) and analysis of school and student performance using secondary sources.

Duties and Responsibilities

The senior research analyst is responsible for the design and execution of small to medium solo projects or components of larger projects; such as, designing surveys, creating respondent contact resources, building datasets for analysis, or producing analytic results using both quantitative and qualitative methods.

The position is also responsible for project management on key projects or components of projects, including project planning, staff allocations, task time control, budget-to-actuals analysis and reporting, and quality assurance on all work products.

Qualifications:
Experience working with complex research projects and the ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently and in teams, with excellent analytic, written and oral communication skills; must be able to handle rotating leadership during the course of a project.

At least two years of budget responsibility and personnel management (hiring, supervision and assessment) is required.

PhD degree and three years in an applied social science research setting required.
