Job Description

Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor, Leadership Studies/Research:

The Department of Educational Leadership & Human Resource Development at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio invites applications for an assistant/associate professor in a tenure-track position in the area of Leadership Studies with an emphasis on Research to begin Fall Semester 2014.

Competitive candidates will have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in educational leadership, leadership, or related field and will be prepared to teach both masters and doctoral level courses (in the new Ed.D. in Leadership Studies program beginning Fall 2014) in Statistical Methods, Data Analysis, Quantitative and Qualitative Methodology, and Educational/Psychological Measurement and Instrument Design. Other courses will include graduate courses consistent with the candidates area of specialization. University teaching experience and scholarship are necessary, as is a strong commitment to working with and developing students and using various teaching pedagogies. Preference will be afforded candidates who can demonstrate previous experience in supervision of doctoral students. The candidate will be expected to chair and serve on thesis/dissertation committees, develop a continuing research program that includes students, and participate in department and university service.

Xavier University is a comprehensive institution in the Jesuit Catholic tradition with over 7,000 students. The Department of Educational Leadership and Human Resource Development has six full-time faculty members who teach in the masters and doctoral programs. Programs leading to licensure for principal, superintendent, and specialists in curriculum, instruction, and staff development, pupil services, research, community relations, and personnel are also offered.
