SOCIAL/CLINICAL RESEARCH SPECIALIST (RESEARCH ASSOCIATE I)

THIS IS A SPA POSITION. THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION.

THIS POSITION IS BEING RECRUITED AT THE CONTRIBUTING LEVEL.

WORK HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
WORK SCHEDULE: MONDAY - FRIDAY

JOB SUMMARY
This position is designed to help ensure that the office of Institutional Assessment and Research (IAR) can meet the needs and demands of our data requestors. This employee in this position performs a vital role in helping ensure that standardized tests/surveys are administered on a routine basis with sufficient response rates. The purpose of this position is to assist IAR team members with the completion of internal/external data requests and provide logistic support in the area of survey/test administration. The employee in this position is expected to help ensure that information is readily reported to and available for campus constituents and external groups.

The primary responsibilities include:
  • Scheduling and proctoring standardized tests/surveys
  • Setting up surveys in electronic format.
  • Facilitating focus groups.
  • Conducting literature reviews and preparing summary reports.
  • Assist with website design, review, and updating.
  • Assist with the collection, analysis, and display of selected institutional data.
  • Work to enhance effective data dissemination between the schools/colleges and the administrative offices.
  • Assist with the administration and analysis of the End of Classroom Rating of Instruction.
  • Assist with Fact Book updating and editing.
  • Assists in fulfilling internal data requests for institutional planning and evaluation.
  • Assists with the data collection for measuring the progress made towards the strategic planning.

  • Experience conducting statistical analyses and preparing reports using qualitative and/or quantitative data.
Competencies: THIS POSITION IS BEING RECRUITED AT THE CONTRIBUTING LEVEL.

KNOWLEDGE PROFESSIONAL:
The employee must possess a basic understanding of research design and be able to conduct thorough literature reviews and create summary reports on prescribed topics. The employee will assist with the online administration of the Classroom Rating of Instruction, facilitate focus groups, assist in updating the Fact Back, and will also assist with coordinating the data collection for measuring the progress made towards the strategic planning. The employee will take a lead role in setting up surveys in an electronic format.

PROJECT DESIGN:

The individual in this position is responsible for collecting and compiling data from multiple sources and offices on campus. This employee will be responsible for scheduling and proctoring standardized tests/surveys and will work to ensure adequate response rates are realized for such administrations. The employee will assist with the website design, review, and updates.

RESEARCH PROJECT/PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION:

The employee will assist in fulfilling internal data requests for institutional planning and assessment. The individual will need to work effectively in a team and will assist other IAR team members with various project completions. The ability to manage multiple tasks and different timelines as required by each specific activity is critical.

DATA/INFORMATION ANALYSIS/MANAGEMENT:

A minimum of one year experience conducting statistical analyses and preparing reports using qualitative and/or quantitative data is required. The individual in this position will assist with the collection, analysis, and display of institutional data. The applicant should have a working understanding of conducting basic statistical analyses and be able to preparing reports using qualitative and/or quantitative data. After compiling and verifying data/information from a variety of sources, the data will be organized and edited into standardized as well as customized report forms.

COMMUNICATION:
The individual in this position must be able to convey clear and concise information in both verbal and written form. The ability to effectively present ideas to groups is required. The employee must be able to create both custom reports as well as follow prescribed reporting requirements. The individual will be expected to contribute to the writing of publications, reports, and presentations. The individual in this position will be expected to enhance effective data dissemination and discussion between the schools/colleges and the administrative offices.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications): REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: None.
