Full-Time Faculty - Graduate Anatomy and Physiology
South University has an excellent opportunity to instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of course competencies in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the online learning environment. This position will provide competency-based career education through learner-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace. The instructor will encourage a culture of learning that values and strives to achieve mutual responsibility, life-long learning, student success and persistence, diversity, ethics, and personal and professional development. The selected candidate must possess qualifications to teach a variety of classes within the specified program area (four courses per academic quarter). This position also includes additional responsibilities (as assigned) related to mentoring online faculty, participating in curriculum and course development, and participating on various academic committees and special projects.
Duties include supporting the online course as created and approved by South University, enabling student exit competencies, and delivering learner-centered instruction through distance delivery mechanisms. Other duties include managing the online class environment, as well as participating in curriculum and course development and improvement projects. The selected candidate must be able to relate industry experience to learning.
This position requires a terminal degree, college-level teaching experience, and workplace experience directly related to the subject domain. At least 6 months of online teaching experience with excellent teaching skills evidenced by prior teaching evaluations required. Must possess high-level technology proficiency with relevant software proficiency for the subject domain. A strong commitment to the online education mission is essential. Excellent oral/written communication, critical thinking and decision-making skills required. Must be able to work from a home office as part of a virtual team. Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format teaching four courses per academic quarter and to work online with students on a daily basis for five of seven days per week is required.
