Research Development and Education Coordinator, Research Office

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Proposal Development Manager, the Research Development and Education Coordinator assists in the identification and dissemination of relevant funding opportunities and the development of workshops and other outreach activities designed to improve faculty and graduate student grantsmanship. The RD & E Coordinator organizes research-related training and educational programs that meet federal and institutional mandates and coordinates and oversees planning and management of special events. In addition, the Coordinator is responsible for the creation and management of online courseware, multimedia training projects and the maintenance of the Research Office website.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of job-related experience. Experience in research administration preferred. Experience in the implementation and evaluation of training programs and the use of funding opportunity databases preferred. Knowledge of the regulatory standards and understanding of the institutional context within which research is conducted. Ability to act as a liaison with faculty, administrators and trainee groups. Ability to interact with multiple levels of staff and leadership. Effective interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service, communication and time management skills. Ability to work effectively with general oversight and manage multiple projects with varying deadlines for several individuals. Ability to interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
