This position reports to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research and will provide vision, management, implement strategies
and serve as a catalyst for the recruitment of graduate students and establish relationships with other universities and colleges, external
stakeholders and private and not for profit entities to provide guidance for a streamlined student recruitment and retention process
utilizing current technologies such as Banner, Hobson's AY and Connect among others. The director will also serve as the clearing officer
for graduating students. This position is also responsible for providing graduate research support to include but not limited to the review
of course and program proposals, preparation of reports and publication, trend analysis, maintenance of graduate student alumni database,
data generation, compilation and assessment of programs for use in promoting graduate school activities, collaborate with units that house
graduate programs and interact with graduate program coordinators, enrollment management, the career development center and other
administrative units. The position demands a strong statistical and analytical skill set, demonstrable knowledge of trend analysis;
excellent oral and written communication skills; effective organizational skills; the ability to work independently, attend to multiple
projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines; experience and knowledge of the Banner system and other emerging technologies; and experience
with institutional assessment and effectiveness. experience in the use of microcomputers, spreadsheets, and data base management experience
in an academic environment. The Director must hold a Master's Degree in an appropriate academic discipline with an emphasis on quality, program productivity and evaluation of institutional programs and initiatives, demonstrated experience with quantitative research methods and statistics, a sound knowledge of qualitative research methods, and at least 5 years of relevant experience in a higher education environment. The relevant experience includes (1) data collection, analysis, and interpretation; (2) strategic planning, (3) project management and assessment; (4) accreditation processes and requirements; and (5) assessment of student learning and experience with institutional assessment and effectiveness. Experience in the use of microcomputers, spreadsheets, and data base management experience in an academic environment. Ability to work well with students with demonstrated sustained record of dedication to student recruitment and success; ability to develop and write publications; ability to work with diverse populations. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. The director must also have at least three (3) years of experience with proposal writing, submission and evaluation.
