Des Moines University

Des Moines, IA
Des Moines University(DMU) is dedicated to educating future health care providers.
Programs of study offered at the 100+-year-old private medical school and health sciences' university include osteopathic medicine, podiatric medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant, public health, and health care administration. These programs are offered through three Colleges--the College of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery and College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
With a total enrollment of over 1800, Des Moines University is large enough to offer all the amenities of a major educational facility, but small enough to focus on its priority: excellence, through personal, caring medical education.
As the second oldest osteopathic medical school in the nation, the university has a long history of excellence. More than 8,000 alumni can be found nationwide improving the health of individuals and communities.
The College of Podiatric Medicine has been identified as the model for podiatric medicine by representatives from each of the United States' seven colleges of podiatry; and, the University's Foot and Ankle Institute is the largest team of podiatric physicians in Iowa.
Graduates of the Physician Assistant Program (P.A.) and Program in Physical Therapy (P.T.) consistently rank above the national averages on first-time licensing exam pass rates and scores.
The Health Care Administration and Public Health programs are both designed for adult learners and offer evening and weekend classes, with flexible, individualized degree planning.

Des Moines University's 22-acre campus is located in a premier Des Moines neighborhood, with stately surrounding and shaded lawns, and is only a few blocks away from the governor's residence. The city of about 450,000 offers a wide variety of entertainment opportunities and cultural attractions.

DMU employs over 360 full- and part-time individuals and offers many attractive benefits, including a generous tuition assistance plan for continued professional growth, health/life/dental insurance, tax-deferred annuity plans, and a generous vacation benefit. Employees can also take advantage of the university's gym and wellness programs, medical library and on-campus Tower Medical Clinic.
