Reporting to the Director of Residence Life and Housing, this full-time, live-in position is responsible for promoting student development and assisting in all areas of a comprehensive housing operation, as well as initiation and implementation of residence life projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide assistance to students including advising, counseling, and discipline adjudication;
  • Develop and present residence hall programs and activities which are educational and/or social in nature;
  • Lead staff and students in the development of a caring community environment;
  • Coordinate and follow-through on all records regarding overall maintenance of assigned residential facilities;
  • Approve, coordinate, and document all room changes within the residence hall;
  • Select, train and supervise Resident Advisors and/or Graduate Assistants;
  • Provide general campus and building orientation to resident students;
  • Assist with all major departmental processes (e.g., openings, closings, RA selection, RA training, housing selection, orientation);
  • Serve in an on-call duty rotation with other Area Coordinators and Graduate Hall Directors.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred), a minimum of one year of residence hall supervisory experience, knowledge of counseling practices, supervisory and interpersonal skills, and administrative ability.
