Job Description: General Description
The Assistant Director has administrative responsibility for monitoring the policies and procedures of the University student judicial system, for administering the Student Code of Conduct.

Specific Responsibilities
The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities oversees administration and supervision of the University student judicial system with authority to formulate and carry out institutional policy. To that end, the Assistant Director
a. acts as an administrative hearing officer which includes, counseling students on judicial matters; enacting appropriate sanctions or referring to the judicial boards, and monitoring sanctions;
b. initiates judicial correspondence sent to students involved in disciplinary infractions and their parents;
c. meets with the Student Attorney General and the Advocate for Accused Students to review major cases assigned to the Student Judicial Boards;
d. assists in the selection of new Student Judicial Board members, hearing chairs, Attorney Generals, and Advocates for Accused Students
e. initiates and delivers ongoing training for the members of the Student Judicial Boards, including the Honor Board, Review Board, and Academic Integrity Board;
f. educates the University community about the campus judicial process through lectures and participation at various programs and classes, residence halls, and during New Student Orientation;
g. participates in special projects and serves on various University committees as assigned by the Assistant Director.

Minimum Qualifications: Qualifications
Bachelor degree required. Masters degree in Student Personnel, Counseling, or a related behavioral science preferred. All degrees should be from appropriately accredited institutions. An understanding of student development and counseling theories and the ability to apply theory in practice in a university setting is necessary. A minimum of three years of experience at the post-secondary level, including the administration of a student code of conduct or a housing lease/contract is preferred. Completion of the Association for Student Judicial Affairs Institute Introductory Judicial is preferred.
