Texas Woman's University, founded in 1901, is a public university with over 14,000 students. Our diverse faculty and staff deliver special educational experiences to a student body comprised of 58% pursuing undergraduate degrees and 42% pursuing graduate degrees. The main campus is located in Denton, a city of about 120,000 located 35 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth. TWU also has campuses located in Dallas and Houston. TWU currently holds the Carnegie classification of Doctoral, Professions Dominant, which means it awards doctoral degrees in a range of fields, with the plurality in the professions other than engineering. The College of Nursing has an enrollment of 2,976 and offers baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral programs. The programs in Houston include RN to BS, RN to MS, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator masters, Nursing Health Systems Management masters, Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) and PhD in Nursing Science. An increasing number of courses are now offered online. All Houston programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
The Houston campus is seeking both tenure track and clinical track faculty with expertise in adult health and/or as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). The successful candidate will engage in teaching, scholarship, and service activities. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field (for the tenure track positions) and a Master's degree in nursing. Candidates must be eligible for RN licensure in Texas. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.
