Texas Woman's University (TWU) is seeking an experienced and visionary leader for a tenured-track position as Department Chair (faculty rank commensurate with experience and to be determined) for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

This innovative department leads in education with well established programs in speech-language pathology and deaf education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The ASHA accredited SLP graduate program and the deaf education program each have on-campus and distance education venues. The department offers two clinics: The Speech and Hearing Clinic on the Denton campus and The Stroke Center-Dallas. The collegial faculty are productive in several areas of research and committed to the mission of the department.

Responsibilities: Providing leadership to faculty/staff in academic and clinical programs in the areas of strategic planning, curriculum development, and faculty development. The chair will also be responsible for the daily operation of the program, scheduling, and personnel evaluation with some teaching expectations and research in the area of interest. Applicants should hold an earned doctorate in speech-language pathology (SLP), audiology, deaf education/special education or related area from an accredited institution. Academic administrative experience is preferred. The Department Chair reports to the Dean of the College of Health Sciences. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience/qualifications.
