Position Summary:
This posting is for adjunct faculty interested in serving as the DMS Clinical Coordinator to assist the DMS Program Coordinator in seeking accreditation for the new Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at Cosumnes River College and also potentially teaching in the program.

Coordinator Responsibilities:
Coordinate the DMS clinical/practicum education, and evaluate the effectiveness of the clinical education through a schedule of regular visits to the clinical affiliate/clinical education centers/sites as assigned by the DMS Program Coordinator; responsible for student placement, instruction, and the development and assessment of student learning activities, assignments, and outcome for each practicum course; work with students and preceptors in troubleshooting educational concerns and monitor student progress in the practicum courses to ensure that students acquire the necessary skills; assist the DMS Program Coordinator in establishing and maintaining program accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and development of program protocols and policies; assist with advisory committee meetings; act as a liaison with hospitals, clinical sites and outside agencies and establish agency agreements.

Additioinal Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities:
The faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; maintaining thorough and up-to-date knowledge in his/her regular teaching field; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities as outlined in the college faculty handbook.

. The ability to multitask and be organized to achieve the desired results for all associated parties in order to manage multiple students, sites and preceptors.

. Good communication skills to identify issues and solicit cooperation and obtain support for the CRC DMS Program.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of work experience related as a sonographer; OR, associate's degree and six years of work experience as a sonographer; OR, the equivalent. Note: Applicants applying under the "equivalent" provision must provide details and explain how their academic preparation is the equivalent of the degrees listed above.

2. Hold an American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) credential.

3. Have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles.

Job Offer Requirements: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful clearance from a criminal background check, freedom from tuberculosis, and proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States prior to the first day of work. For permanent and adjunct faculty positions, when education is a requirement for the position, official academic transcripts from the accredited college/university must be submitted within 60 days of hire.

The District may select additional qualified candidates should unexpected vacancies or needs occur during this recruitment/selection process.

Administrative positions may be subject to the District's Conflict of Interest Code, and a financial disclosure statement is required within thirty (30) days following appointment to the position.

Contingent on funding and eligibility, successful candidates selected for an interview may be eligible to apply for partial reimbursement of travel expenses.
