Bowling Green State University is seeking applicants for Assistant Professor of Flute, tenure track, beginning August 2011. Qualifications include an earned doctorate or master's degree with commensurate professional experience, demonstrated successful teaching experience at the college level, and significant performing experience, including contemporary music. Responsibilities will include teaching applied flute, coaching chamber music, recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students, contributing to the artistic and intellectual environment of the college and university, and maintaining a current profile in flute performance and pedagogy through state, regional and national activities. Other duties may be assigned depending on the needs of the department and background of the candidate. The salary is competitive and commensurate with peer institution levels for rank and position and in keeping with candidate's experience and credentials.

Applicants should submit a letter indicating interest in and qualifications for the position, full curriculum vitae, a copy of your transcript of highest degree earned, one CD of recent solo performances, and a list of three to five references. Please list track numbers and selection titles on both the CD case and disc. To assure full consideration, applications must be postmarked by January 3, 2011.

Finalists for the position will be asked to submit three current (dated within one year) original letters of reference and an original transcript showing highest degree earned. Electronic and fax submissions of application letter and CV are acceptable.
