Job Description: Applications are invited for a teaching faculty position beginning in the fall semester, 2012 to teach BUSI 2200 Experiential Leadership: Teams in Action - an applied leadership course in the new leadership program in the College of Business. This is a non-tenure track position.

Experiential Leadership is the second course in a comprehensive leadership program that spans the four-year undergraduate curriculum in the College of Business. The curriculum begins with Strategy First, a class designed to create enthusiasm for the study of business, demonstrate how the different functional areas of business are integrated, and to provide a foundation for personal, professional, and leadership development among first year business students. Sophomores take Experiential Leadership, which builds practical applied leadership skills while continuing to reinforce business professionalism.

Experiential Leadership: Teams in Action is a team based experiential course that guides students through the process of working in a team as they complete a team project. Topics covered include conflict resolution, time management, group communication, and other skills required to facilitate teamwork and successful project management. This course is an experiential course which ties activity to business in order to facilitate learning. The curriculum continues with Leadership II junior year and Leadership III senior year, which allow for continued personal leadership. All students are required to complete a portfolio that provides for reinforcement of the leadership principles learned during their time in the college.

Minimum Qualifications: The qualified candidate will:
  • Hold an advanced degree from an appropriately accredited institution, preferably in business or a business related field, communication, or training and development, and have significant business experience
  • Have experience with group, team, or organizational development
  • Have experience in management training and/or development
  • Have the ability to work in a collaborative environment to achieve a shared vision
  • Think creatively within certain guidelines and restrictions
  • Have a passion for teaching and for mentoring students
