The Department of Geoscience ( at UNLV seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with a commitment to undergraduate education for a full time, 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position (Faculty in Residence) to begin Fall 2013. Primary responsibilities are teaching introductory level courses in geology and/or geography for non-science majors, both on campus, and through our web-based distance-learning program. Duties will also include K-12 outreach and departmental service activities. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach upper division or graduate courses, supervise graduate students, and seek external funding if they so desire.

This position requires a Ph.D. degree in geology or physical geography from an accredited college or university.

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
