This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsReporting to the President this position is responsible for carrying out the operational responsibilities of the Office of the President. Serving as a principal member of the President's cabinet, supports the President in leading an effective senior management team as well as coordinates and liaises with other senior executive officers on virtually any matter that is a duty or responsibility of the President. This position interacts with administrators, faculty and professional staff to affect communication between the President and all campus constituencies and represents the President as appropriate in resolving problems and complaints from students and other constituencies; responds to daily requests for Presidential assistance in handling inquiries, correspondence, complaints, and determines delegation of task to other offices or gathers appropriate background information for President to render a decision. Serves as the point person for all executive level searches.
The position requires an advanced degree, several years of experience in a leadership role or related experience, preference given to candidates serving in a similar role at an institution of higher education; strong leadership the ability to exercise sound judgment and independent initiative in bringing information or problems to the attention of the President. High level of integrity, diplomacy and confidentiality is required. Superior interpersonal skills and communication skills as well as the ability to think strategically in a dynamic environment is also required.
