This full-time position reports to the Marketing Communications Manager and serves as the technical lead for the college's website. This role also provides professional support in other aspects of online/electronic marketing communications.

Responsibilities include:

Coordinate the overall design, planning, development, graphic image, information architecture and content for the college's website. Administer the college's content management system (Cascade Server). Maintain and coordinate regular revisions to existing website content and develop website services and features that will generate student enrollment in college programs. Provide assistance to other college staff in the development of additional website pages, information and services.

Work cooperatively with other departments/staff throughout the college to plan, organize and implement online marketing communications projects and/or events.

Utilize all appropriate databases and manual/electronic means to manage and measure progress on tasks, projects and goals, including tracking and analyzing Web traffic. Maintain appropriate archives and records as needed.

Implement Brand Standards on the Waubonsee website.

Maintain expertise in technology trends and Web-related innovation.

Write and implement scripts to support forms and database connections.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.

Minimum of two years professional Web design and development experience required.

Experience with Web scripting or programming, including PHP and JavaScript libraries (jQuery, jQueryUI, jQuery Mobile), and website search engine optimization and usability.

Experience with relational databases, robust database design principles, and the integration of databases with Web Application Servers, including Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Access, MySQL or Oracle.

Knowledge of X/HTML, CSS, XML, XSL, XSLT and content management systems. Experience with Cascade Server preferred.

Hands-on experience in a multi-platform environment including Microsoft Windows, Linux, Macintosh, and UNIX. Working knowledge of Web server administration including performance analysis and optimization, sandboxing, remote access and basic hardware requirements.

Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, blogging software, and audio and video editing software.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of college staff in an efficient, responsible and confidential manner required.

Must have excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize work, meet strict deadlines and pay attention to detail.

Knowledge of Internet and website design best practices, standards, protocol, security methods, and content management systems.

Knowledge of or experience with social media/Web 2.0.
