Position Description: This Professional Research Assistant (PRA) position exists to provide research support for the Scalable Architecture for Federated Translational Inquiries (SAFTINet) project. The incumbent will assist project investigators and the project manager with comparative effectiveness research protocols and community engagement for a distributed data network seeking to develop federated databases of clinical and claims data.

Assist with management and implementation of plans and procedures for developing a safety-net focused federated database and study protocols for comparative effectiveness research in COHO
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of research activities with SAFTINet project partners, including Colorado community health centers
  • Assist with survey instrument development, production and distribution
  • Provide support for data collection in the field
  • Coordinate and attend meetings with project investigators and staff; assist with preparing and distributing meeting summaries and action plans
  • Assist with maintaining study timelines and workplans
  • Prepare initial applications, modifications, amendments and continuing review forms for COMIRB
Assisting with community engagement with project partners, including health centers and Medicaid agencies
  • Assist with preparing and distributing project newsletters
  • Maintain project website and SharePoint site
  • Assist with administration of the grant including:
  • Tracking budgets and subcontractor and consultant invoices
  • Assisting with ongoing subcontracting and consulting requirements
  • Compiling reports for funding agencies
  • Assist with relevant literature searches and reviews
  • Assist in preparation and submission of manuscripts or reports
  • Other project tasks as designated by the principal investigator and project manager

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in health-related field, plus at least 2 years of experience in assisting with research projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly with all software in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with the Internet and conducting Internet searches.
  • Ability to work as a team member and work effectively with diverse people
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maximum accountability
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Public Health or related field
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis
  • Experience working with project budgets and invoices
  • Past employment in a university environment
  • Practice-based/Community-based research experience
  • Experience with developing and managing websites
  • Experience with statistical and reference management software, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Expressions (website development) a plus
