The Information Technology Technical Associate (IT Integration Specialist) will be responsible for integrating Microsoft LAN technologies into a seamless methodology for the advancement of research, teaching and business needs of the College.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic planning for the evolution of the Microsoft server and workstation environments at Vet Med.
a. Develop a strategy for delivering a common virtual desktop for clinical systems.
b. Administer the local Microsoft AD including capacity planning, disaster recovery, GPO implementation and future enhancements.
c. Develop strategies for migration to central Campus Active Directory services.
d. Consult with desktop support functions in the unit on effective use of Microsoft technologies.
e. Support of Microsoft Unified Communications.
2. Share responsibility of managing desktop support activities.
a. Manage help request workflow via online ticket system.
b. Triage help requests, assign work and follow-up with clients.
c. Provide tier 2 level desktop support as appropriate.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, information systems, or a related field; and three years supporting a Microsoft LAN infrastructure including most or all of: experience administering Microsoft Active Directory LANs (Windows Server 2003/2008, Exchange, GPOs, WSUS); in-depth knowledge of server hardware (Dell), storage systems (SAN, RAID), and backup systems (Tivoli, Veritas Backup Exec); and experience implementing industry best practices for backup and security protocols.

For this Credential Assessment exam, please remember to include all relevant work experience typically including implementation and maintenance of operating systems and software components; providing assistant in the development and assessment of hardware and software components; recommending optimum equipment and software configurations; and providing technical guidance with regard to proper data processin methods, performance standards security measures, and systems analysis.
