The Director of Career Management Center is responsible for the management and operation of the IIT Career Management Center (CMC), excluding any direct career services provided by a college or school (e.g. Chicago-Kent College of Law and to some degree Stuart School of Business (SSB) and the Institute of Design (ID)).

Key Responsibility 1
Employer Relations- Responsible for the addition and retention of employer organizations to provide internships, co-ops, part-time and full-time employment for IIT students and alums. Also lead in the provision of exceptional CMC events (Career Fairs, Employer Spotlights, On-Campus Interviews, Corporate days, etc.).

Key Responsibility 2
Student and Alum Relations - Responsible for CMC candidate preparation as related to advising, student employment, the development and presentation of Professional Development Workshops (PDWs), improving Customer satisfaction and service to students, alums, and various student and alum organizations.

Key Responsibility 3
Operations - Maintain appropriate records and perform appropriate analysis on CMC operations including reports on awarded student placement rates, PDW attendance rates, student advising activity levels, intern/coop participation rates, student participation levles at major CMC events (e.g. Career Fair), etc. The key goal will be to attain at least an 80% placement rate by six months after graduation.

Key Responsibility 4
IIT Level Teamwork - Partner with appropriate members of the IIT community (faculty, staff, administration, students, parents, alums and friends of the university) to insure that our key CMC events and more generally our placement efforts are viewed as, and are pragmatically executed as university wide efforts.

The Director CMC must be a superb oral and written communicator who is exceptionally effective with all levels of management both internally and externally. The occupant of this positions interacts with all schools, functions and departments within IIT and with students (especially through the CMC Student Advisory Council) and alums. The position holder must also effectively communicate with external organizations of all types, sizes and complexities, and governmental and community organizations at all levels.

Customer Service:
The Director CMC is responsible for customer satisfaction and service on career management initiatives, programs, and service to students, alumni, employers, university partners, and community and government organizations. Structured Customer Service surveys and metrics are to be constantly used to record level of customer satisfaction for all constiuent groups. The goal is 4.5 or higher on a 5 point scale for all services/activities measured.

Education & Experience:
Masters degree preferred. 7-10 years of management experience requried in the areas of: career services, student counseling, university recruiting, human resources, business development or related fields.

Preferred Skills:
Must be an expert communicator, strategist, customer service provider, problem solver, team player, solutions oriented, workflow and computer analysis expert, quality and metrics driven.
