This position has technical responsibilities in the area of Windows systems administration. The position requires expert Windows server and Active Directory knowledge, at least general knowledge of other operating systems, and a desire to continually learn about new software and technologies.

The position supports systems security responsibilities on Windows and Linux OS servers. The position requires systems security knowledge, at a technical level, in a multi-platform-operating environment. In addition the position provides support for network systems, both wired and wireless, and performs other duties as assigned.

Strong communication skills, strong programming skills, the ability to juggle multiple high priority tasks and a desire to provide high quality service to the community are required. Expert diagnostic and problem solving skills are essential to the successful performance of this role.

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in computer science, or equivalent experience required.

Mastery of Windows Server operating systems - some Linux preferred - and Macintosh operating systems helpful.

Mastery of PowerShell strongly recommended.

Mastery of current Internet standards, network protocols and debugging techniques is required.

Expert diagnostic and problem solving skills are essential to the successful performance of this role.

Confidentiality of the highest degree is required.

3 to 5 years experience with Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory required.

Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills required.

Previous work experience with the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, routing, Ethernet switching, RADIUS, RANCID/CVS and SYSLOG is preferred.

Ability to rapidly acquire and maintain functional knowledge of a wide range of network applications, systems and operational services is expected.

The ability to work effectively with staff at all levels; establish and adjust priorities; exceptional interpersonal communication skills and extremely diverse and extensive technical skills are essential to successful performance in this role.

Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds. Must be able to use hand and/or power tools to build equipment racks and install servers or network equipment and other ancillary equipment.

Work Schedule:
Normal Hours- Monday-Friday:8:30 am to 4:30pm. Deviation from standard work hours is required during peak service times. This job will require 24hr/7 day on-call status. Nights or weekends may be required at times.Graduation and Reunion weekends may be a required work time.
