The College of Education Advising and Field Placement Center invites applications for a Senior Academic Advisor position. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position. The primary responsibility is to provide academic advising to current and potential undergraduate students in the College of Education. Duties include: providing accurate information regarding degree requirements, educational and career options, university and college policies and procedures; evaluating student progress; helping students with academic decisions (e.g. choice of major, course planning, goal clarification, etc.); referring students to other campus resources; participating in the recruitment and orientation; processing graduation applications, petitions, and other forms routed through the advising center; documenting and updating student records; and other duties as assigned.

This position requires a Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and experience as an academic advisor in a regionally accredited college or university or a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and at least three years of related professional work experience. Applicants must have experience with computerized student information systems and their application to advising; be accurate and detail-oriented; possess excellent communication skills; be able to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change; possess excellent time-management skills to handle a large caseload; and be knowledgeable of student confidentiality guidelines (FERPA). Knowledge of teacher education programs and/or teacher certification requirements is preferred.

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
