NCE Budget Analyst (Wheeling Campus) « Position Deleted on 2/20/2013 »
The Budget Analyst for the National College of Education, working with Business Intelligence, will analyze financial and other relevant data needs, develop sources and storage for the input data, aggregate and interpret this data for NCE leadership. Additionally, the Budget Analyst will supervise NCE's day-to-day budgeting activities, work with the Budget Office to coordinate NCE with NLU's policies and monitor internal controls, work with NCE Deans, Directors, Designated Budget Heads and Centers to manage monthly and annual budgets, and contribute information needed to analyze, plan and inform NCE's internal choices around how the college uses its budgeted resources. The Budget Analyst will develop and automate reports and procedures, develop business plans to support new and existing projects and programs and work closely with NCE & NLU to support grant budget development and post grant budget administration, consulting, conferences and other special projects.
Job responsibilities will include: Work closely with leadership to develop and implement tracking indicators; dashboards summaries and annual reports for the college; monitor progress toward goals on a regular basis; Monitor and review Monthly/Quarterly Variance Reports with NCE Dean, Directors, Designated Budget Heads, project coordinators and center directors; Monitor NCE post-grant expenditures and design college process and reporting structures to ensure grants accountability and compliance; work closely with post grant management to resolve problems; Additional special assignments as directed by NCE Deans; Automate repetitive tasks and reports; develop reports and procedures that translate financial information into user friendly information on NCE's financial status; Develop business plans for new and existing projects and programs; Support NCE's grant proposals and special projects; Supervise day-to-day budgeting processes such as: expenses reports, miscellaneous budget items as needed, conferences, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: In depth knowledge of budget and accounting practices in an educational setting; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, etc; Ability to train large and small groups of individuals in the use of technology; Bachelor's degree in business or related field. 5-7 years of experience with budgets and related items.
