This position does not require the applicant to be present for an exam. However, you must submit an exam request form to be considered. The University will conduct a credential assessment. Your exam score will be based on the application materials submitted.

Facilities and Services Computer Support seeks an applicant for three IT Technical Associate positions. The IT Technical Associate will be an experienced specialist, responsible for maintaining groups of systems within the overall infrastructure of the department; interact with customers to provide solutions for problems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures systems functionality, integrity and efficiency
  2. Installs and configures servers and server software as required
  3. Assists in maintaining VLANs, DNS and DHCP
  4. Assists in maintaining documentation and records pertaining to the department's infrastructure
  5. Analyzes system requirements
  6. Provides training on software and systems to other employees at the same or lower level
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of progressively responsible, IT-related experience supporting a Microsoft LAN infrastructure including administering Microsoft Active Directory LANs (Windows Server 2003/2008); working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP; knowledge of Dell server hardware; and experience implementing industry best practices for backup and security protocols. Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of VMWare, vSphere, and vCenter; Microsoft SQL server; Oracle 10g or 11g server; Microsoft IIS server; and Apache Tomcat server.

For this Credential Assessment exam, please remember to include all relevant work experience typically including implementation and maintenance of operating systems and software components; providing assistant in the development and assessment of hardware and software components; recommending optimum equipment and software configurations; and providing technical guidance with regard to proper data processin methods, performance standards security measures, and systems analysis.
