We are currently searching for a Director of Admissions Communications to join our Chicago Office.

This position will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies and programs, ensuring that all prospective students are kept engaged and informed about all TCSES affiliates. The Director will develop and cultivate relationships with students from their initial point of contact with our campuses/divisions. Additionally, the Director will create, coordinate, and implement activities and events as lock-ins for new students.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership, direction, motivation, and supervision of direct reports as well as oversees training and development of staff.

  • Maintain contact with students in the pre-applicant stage, ensuring they are informed, engaged, and encouraged to become part of the TCSES community.

  • Engage prospective students through creative email campaigns, events, notifications of new programs/campuses, etc.

  • Create/distribute quarterly newsletter to prospective students and Admissions Team.

  • Responsible for website updates and notifications as they relate to recruitment/lock-in activities, i.e. open houses, speakers, new program presentations, etc.

  • Promote on-going campus events and hold events to create a sense of community and belonging before matriculation.

  • Build relationships, and closely communicate with institutional directors, especially admissions, admission operations and international student services.

  • Increase/improve satisfaction for incoming students by maintaining high levels of informative and supportive communication.

  • Develop a strategy for decreasing melt among incoming students


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to create and generate interest in TCSES programs and campuses.

  • Experience working with multiple affiliates a plus, but not required.

  • Experience with communication practices, especially in Higher Education;

  • Experience working with and in higher education arenas and extensive knowledge of post-secondary education admissions requirements;

  • Knowledge of enrollment planning, demographics, recruitment, marketing and communication strategies

  • Knowledge of the operational functions of an admission office

  • Interpersonal/human relations skills

  • Supervisory and office management skills

  • Presentation and facilitation skills

  • Creative, adaptive, and analytical skills

  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
