The Department of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and Technology (MMET) at Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) seeks applications for two (2) full-time, 9 month, tenure-track positions. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Oregon Tech's faculty salaries are competitive with our comparator institutions.
The department's primary mission is to prepare students for entry into professional practice. The appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor level. The department offers BSME (EAC-ABET accredited), BSMET, BSMFG (both ABET accredited) and MSMFG degrees. The MMET Department has extensive laboratory and shop facilities and is well known for providing a hands-on-education.
The positions are focused on undergraduate and graduate teaching along with applied research opportunities.
Position #1 has responsibilities for development and teaching in the area of Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering. The successful applicant needs to be able to teach in at least two of the following areas: Industrial Controls, Robotics and Automation, Instrumentation and Electronics. Candidates will be considered for starting Fall term 2013.
Position #2 has responsibilities for development and teaching in the area of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. The successful applicant needs to be able to teach in at least two of the following areas: Machine Design, Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer. Candidates will be considered for starting Fall term 2013.

Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of three years relevant industrial experience.
An earned Doctorate in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or closely related field, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and/or professional registration.
