The Program Coordinator for Student Activities will oversee all registered student organizations and assist with Campus Life operations in a busy, multi-functional Campus Life department. In addition to student organization support, the Program Coordinator provides specific support to multicultural student organizations for the purpose of creating a calendar of activities and events designed to celebrate heritage and history months. The Program Coordinator will assist with creating programs, plans, and processes that foster the learning, growth and development of all students at Saint Xavier University, ensuring that all programs are intentional, collaborative, inclusive, and effectively promoted throughout the University. Manage student involvement processes and programs including the registration and daily support of student organizations, supporting the creation of new student organizations and meeting on a regular basis with student organizations to coordinate campus events. Provide structure and guidance to multicultural student organizations, students, faculty and staff for the purpose of creating annual Heritage and History Month committees (Hispanic Heritage, MLK, Black History, Women's History, LGBTQIA and Diversity Awareness). Develop and facilitate programming, budget, and leadership development workshops for student organization leaders as well as training for student organization advisors. Provide ongoing guidance to registered student organizations and their faculty advisors with regards to Campus Life and SXU policies and procedures. Assist with all Campus Life functions and work with individual students as well as groups and provide resource referrals, mentorship, emergency intervention, and general guidance as appropriate. Serve as a hearing officer in the University Student Conduct System. Function as a member of the Student Affairs staff, serve on committees and task forces, collect data and write reports, manage budgets, and perform other duties as assigned. May teach a section of Transitions, Saint Xavier's introduction to university life class required for all first year students.

QUALIFICAIONS: A Master's degree in College Student Personnel/Higher Education or related field and 1-3 years experience in the field is required; working knowledge of student organization, multicultural issues and leadership concepts required; experience with multicultural student services and student organization advisement in a college or university setting also required. This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, a commitment to working in a multicultural environment, and the ability to work with diverse student populations. The candidate must also be a self-starter, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be creative and resourceful, and have the ability to multi-task. The candidate must be generally proficient in PC-based software applications including Excel for reports and basic statistical analysis. Web development skills a plus. The candidate chosen must have a good rapport with students, a willingness to work collaboratively with other members of the university community, and a commitment to the mission and core values of the institution.

Full time: Frequent evening and weekend hours required.
