Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Plant Systems Manager supervises the day to day operations of the University's HVAC plant systems, including maintenance, service and repair of all heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. Manages routine maintenance and service repairs on chillers & boilers, and inspects work to ensure equipment is in compliance with trade standards. Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of air conditioning and refrigeration; the practices and techniques used in the installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment and systems; refrigerant types, environmental impact, and gas reclamation procedures and equipment is required. Thorough knowledge of HVAC systems control programs, plumbing, and the electrical trades as they pertain to HVAC systems.


High School Diploma or GED; Minimum of 5 years experience in the HVAC industry including at least 2 years at a supervisory level with direct supervision or field responsibility. Additional vocational certified HVAC trade school or vocational college level course certification in the HVAC is preferred.
