Job Description: The Department of Emergency Medicine seeks a highly professional and organized candidate to serve as Personnel Representative for all EPA/SPA/CSS/Temp and Student actions. This position is responsible for a complete understanding and working knowledge of all policies and procedures related to faculty and staff employment, benefits, credentialing, licensing, etc. This position works directly with the Chair, Administrator, Personnel Committee, Human Resources, and the EPA Personnel Office to ensure that all deadlines and requirements are met. Serves as resource for faculty and staff on employment and promote and tenure related matters. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: assist in recruitment strategy; screen perspective applicants and work with search committee & chair on all new hires. The Personnel Rep will maintain applicant files and manage correspondence with candidates; coordinate interview itineraries, tours, lodging, and meals; assist with transportation of candidates; maintain personnel records of current and former employees; respond to inquiries regarding former employees; and maintain statistical data for surveys, questionnaires, and letters of reference. This position serves as leave clerk (EPA, CSS & SPA), provides back up to the chair's executive assistant and backs up the payroll clerk. This position also assists the CADA with personnel budgets and special projects.

Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills are essential.


The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center (formerly Pitt County Memorial Hospital). Vidant Medical Center is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.

Salary Grade Equivalent: 65 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
