ROLE of the POSITION
This position exists to fulfill the leadership and management functions of coordinating campus recreation memberships and all front desk services of a comprehensive recreation facility. Responsibilities include coordination and monitoring all membership and services sales, locker rentals, pro-shop operations, equipment room rentals, facility tours and marketing of all the front desk services; communicating, staffing, facilitating and marketing of all building special events scheduled in the recreation facility; the completion of all work orders submitted to the front desk; supervising 2 graduate assistants, 1 for facility operations and another for membership services, a front desk staff of 50-60 students including facility attendants, service attendants and building managers; assisting with the coordination and marketing efforts of all program areas, including but not limited to, tours of the facility (student and outside groups) and development of membership and facility brochures; work collaboratively with all other program coordinators in regards to front desk registration and marketing, programming locations, scheduling, set-up and space needs, cash handlings or any other requests PC's may have for the front desk. Is responsible for all monetary handling including 3 $100 tills (1 for Outdoor Adventures, 2 for Service Desk), daily deposit, all SRWC refunds and cancellations, cash drawer audits; along with maintaining and providing support for our software system (Rectrac) and all sections used in this facility.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited University, 1-2 years of related experience as a graduate assistant or post-bachelors required (Master's Degree preferred) Experience with membership sales, guest services, customer service, and direct group/individual supervising required. Experience with RecTrac membership database preferred. Experience with marketing and cash handling preferred. Successful candidates will have the ability to assess student needs, value a high degree of student contact, able to interact effectively with a wide diversity of people, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate well in verbal and written form. Experience with outcomes assessment and analysis is preferred.
CPR & First Aid certified preferred.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
