Job Description: The Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for assisting the network, primary care providers, and hospitals in the management of the pharmacy benefits for Carolina Access Medicaid patients in conjunction with the local pharmacists. The focus is on providing services to patients as well as interacting with medical staff to optimize drug therapy patient outcomes while providing patient education/counseling to improve compliance and knowledge of medications. Patient care services will be primarily provided in the outpatient clinics of ECU Department of Family Medicine and Internal Medicine.

The Clinical Pharmacist will work with the Director of Pharmacy Services, the Network Director, the Network Medical Director and Clinical Directors, and CCNC Program Office to determine how to best meet the health care needs of the local Medicaid population.

Prefer a bachelor's degree of pharmacy or PharmD degree. Also prefer at least two years of relevant clinical pharmacy experience and/or formal residency training in a clinic-based, ambulatory practice. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of North Carolina.


The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center. VMC is the flagship hospital for Vidant Medical Center and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Minimum Qualifications: Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of North Carolina.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
