Duties: Under the direction of the Manager of Telecommunications, the Telephone Services Engineer (TSE) is responsible for all telephone systems equipment and operations. These systems include but are not limited to: Cisco Call Manager, IPCC, Voicemail, E911, Emergency Notification, Call Accounting, Inter-Tel, and several more. In addition, the TSE will need to be able to work directly with outside Telephone Service Providers to troubleshoot outages both off-site and on-site and is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of all telephone equipment at all campus sites. In addition, TSE will provide back-up duties for the Telecommunications Manager in their absence. This will help to maintain having mission critical support personnel on staff at all times. The Telephone Services Engineer is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree required; three to five years in an end-user computing environment; must have demonstrated analytical ability to logically approach problems; Cisco and Microsoft certifications preferred.

Qualifications: The Telephone Services Engineer makes recommendations for all Voice technologies; keeps abreast of all Cisco VolP technologies and upgrades; engages in cross-relational support in technologies existing in Network Operations, Multimedia, User Support; installs, upgrades, maintains, and test all voice equipment; configures operating system/applications on new equipment; coordinates warranty hardware problems with third-party vendors or manufacturers; assists in providing and controlling security on systems for data, files, and programs; repairs telephone hardware equipment as required, including replacement of major hardware components; assists in training college staff on installed hardware and software; responsible for multiple server support, including maintenance and upgrades; assists with the support of all functions of the Switchboard.

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:15 pm
Plus on call 24 hours a day - 7 days a week
